Good Practices in Code Development

C2SM was pleased to organize a technical training on good practices in code development on October 31, 2013, ETH Zurich, Room CHN P12.

Objective: The objective of this technical training is to introduce the importance of good programming practices, such as for example the need to document and version any piece of code including climate codes, pre- and post-processing scripts, plotting scripts, etc. The training provides an overview of some coding standards and presents basic principles of code versioning, debugging and performance analysis.

Target audience: PhD students, post-docs and technical staff within the C2SM Community. No prior experience in programming is required.
